The face is generally pretty cool but there are quite a lot of issues and I don't think it's up to your usual high standard. The eyes are way too white - no eye is ever that bright! Argh! Also his eyes are very large ... in the original skin for HL1, he has really narrow suspicious eyes, now in this version he looks like…
It's hard to tell for sure, but you seem to be saying that some of the revisions were mandated when the design for a character changed after you already started on it. If that's the case, you should bill them for it, and let them know that 'the specifications changed'. If they don't have a clear idea of what they want,…
Yeah, blender's snapping function can sometimes be a little tricky so wondering if you tried snap to vertex whilst toggle X-ray to on or edge/vertex slide? (shortcut G x2) Personally I've found most of the time works when an asymmetrical edge doesn't align as expected.
The model looks good, but I feel that it's a bit too dark. I'm not sure if it's badly lit or if it's the textures that are too dark. He could probably use some kind of accenting secondary color as well as he looks kind of boring with pretty much just red, brown and dark grey. I'm not very familiar with Warmachine but AFAIK…
Good morning folks. A little update: I am still working on the map. I'm spending a lot of time on it in the hopes it will speed things up later. I began by outlining all the neighborhoods, then I consolidated them based on similarity from a quick view (sorry for the hasty generalization, I'm sure your neighborhood is very…
Hey, you have some nice work there. I love the Illustrated 3D house! The stylized river fantasy environment is also lovely. The stylized PBR material studies are nice as well, but it'd be great to see them applied in context in a simple environment. The other pieces, I'm not so sure... K'n-yan's minion is fun, but lacks…
Hi everyone, Let me present a very simple practical example, Modeled in 3ds Max 2025 and baked in Substance Painter 11. Low / High Normals When I do the bake I always have a problem where a light jump can be seen in the area where the seam is. I understand this is due to the normal bake; the test was done using averaged…
Been a while since I've posted an update, but here's the latest and greatest. I've changed the wood pattern to one with a more distinct grain and richer colors. The layers of dust on the top were increased and I threw in some finger marks to add more character, as though someone was clearing the dust to check the condition…
Ok, here we go. First picture is of a parkerized muzzle brake. This is taken with over-the-shoulder lighting from the three-way bulb in my bedroom lamp. Here's the same brake with a larger difference between light and viewing angle: Now, on the flipside, here are pictures of my working carbine (Saiga 7.62x39mm). It has a…
