Vassago, You'll be happy to hear that I added support for local/object space normal maps to ShaderFX today (world space normal maps will also work in that mode). The new feature will be available soon along with a ton of other new features - when we announce our upcoming point release. Lots of cool stuff in the works! -

Have you checked the Temp dir to see if Maya wrote a backup during the crash? Its usually in C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Temp You could try exporting the scene out as Maya ASCII or OBJ and re-import. I've fixed broken meshes that way, maybe it will work with broken scenes. -

I'm really big on salsa from local places. I've found a place by my condo in LA that I can walk to that has great salsa. I'd say explore some restaurants that make salsa homemade. Definitely better than store bought. It's always different too. Sometimes really hot, sometimes really spicy. -

Hey, be happy you don't have a modern German Army haircut. I looked like a freaking egg and had to worry about some punk mistaking me for a skinhead (didn't help that our instructors told us about some of the local punks not being able to tell a soldier's uniform from a neonazi getup). -

Hey great to see this little thing growing up. I presented for Softimage at FMX a few years back, and then it wasnt much more than a small gathering of local companies. I wont be there this time, but seems like a great opportunity to drop some portfolios around. And stuttgart is a pretty nice city too! worth checking out :) -

True, the trouble is creators are not really in a position to *hope* that would be the case, it needs to be definitively set out; registering work on indie sites *needs* to have legal standing otherwise it's just another backdoor waiting to be opened. Flatten every UV? Is it right?
Hello polycounters! My wife is now on her first year studying 3D Environment Art at local university. The teacher says they have to straighten every piece of UV to prevent edge bleeding.
