I got my 4x5 Intuos2 off Ebay for $60 USD. No warraty, but it has 1024 levels of sesitivity, good pen DPI and it works beautifully. I've heard horror stories from other people about the cheaper tablets out there but I personally don't have any experience with them.
right now it looks like a lowpoly rts unit kind of thing. why the 2048 map? you could size it down to like 1024 or maybe even 512 without losing a whole lot of detail, there isn't really any high frequency stuff painted in so it'd be all good
Ok, here you go, the whole is based on two texture sets, shown side by side. One for the gun (left) and one for the ammo + drums and clip (right). In the shots they're both 2048^2, but I think the ammo texture could be downscaled to 1024^2. Good luck with the grenade. Flats:

There's no point in adjusting it to that width if you're giving 1024xn users a horizontal scroll bar :)

do the following to get rid of fuzzyness Customize > Preferences: Viewports tab > Configure Driver: Background texture size - 1024 match bitmap as closely as possible Download texture size - 512 match bitmap as closely as possible MipMap Lookup - linear then just toggle your material view on and off and it should update.

With a lightmap res of 1024, even with that few assets, you're throwing video memory clean out the window there. With 12 assets, even if it was just 1xDXT1 per asset (it's not, it's several times more) that's 12mb of VRAM for a small part of the scene. 256 might be overkill. I would not be surprised if the game limits…
