The only Apple product I've ever owned, and will ever own, was a 4th generation ipod I got for my sister on her birthday. I ordered it online and it was broken when I opened the box, of course Apple wanted to charge me a lot of money to get it fixed but luckily Amazon was willing to replace it for free (although I just…
@melviso, yeah I agree completely. Somebody here, I can't recall the name at the moment but a character artist and I think he's from germany or austria -- anyway he said that one skill you need to have is to know when to call things good enough and not do exactly what you were talking about : polishing things beyond the…
"But again at my first attempt at baking this part, the blue half (symmetry with UVs outside the 0-1 range) got a proper bake for some reason ?! I mean... you begin to make me doubt now, but I'm 99% sure that at my first baking attempy, with the blue half outside the 0-1 range, Marmoset managed to bake something on each…
Solved! I exported successfully with Game Exporter without the model have been locked inside a layer. I simply unlocked the layer. It's weird because Game Exporter asks for what content should it export, but the locked layer causes this rubbish to the model.
One thing I'm going to go ahead and add on to this, as I haven't seen it mentioned (though it's in the same vein as Alemja's advice) - not all work-related pain can be solved by adjusting your work-related routine. I don't know solution to that exact problem but just in case you are not aware, maya has an incremental save feature. just toggle that on in the Save options. Anytime working with an error / crash prone part of maya (xgen is pretty buggy), it is always good to just spam save and then if you get any weirdness, roll back to…
Thanks for the replies. There are no faces underneath the affected faces, and I just can't see what's special about the affected faces. I've tried looking underneath, flipping them etc. I've also experimented a bit and arrived at the conclusion that it's always the same faces that are affected (so it's not just random) no…
Heyoooo - another update! I started the hair texture but decided to do the skin texture first. This way it's easier to tweak the hair, since this is the part I have the least solid idea of how it should look. Skin is skin, not so much design doubts there. Solve the problems you know how to solve first, right? I tried to…
I can name a few which have done very well. NGUI creator was bringing in $70k a year off of sales but that was a year or two ago. http://blogs.unity3d.com/2012/04/07/interview-super-seller-michael-lyashenko-of-tasharen-entertainment/ Some art assets have done well as long as your doing them "correctly" releasing them in…
