Technical Problem when baking simple object?
[SOLVED]So i stumbled upon this weird problem when i tried to bake some cylindrical shapes onto a flat surface. In example A i bake some cones on cuboid. Low and high poly are the same size and in the same place (their pivots too). As I said all the rest maps are baked properly so I think that problem is with material. EDIT: Nope, wait, it happened AGAIN after adding a rim around the edge of the cannon. What the hell is going on!? I think I solved it. Yet I do not understand it. I pushed the grey vents on the centerpiece back to it doesn't pierce through the blue hood-vent...thing. I also made sure the gear tracks behind the cannon did… -

Actually Daark is right. In offline rendering AO is classified as a non physically accurate effect. Its a measure of how occluded an area is, not a reaction to light. its pretty much a mask FG or Photon Mapping would be more physically accurate.
