There's no reason to try and model this as a single closed mesh. Its a manufactured item so in reality its made from multiple assembled pieces - lean into that and model it the same way.
It's a nice update. Boolean/Smart Extrude is awesome in particular, and it's good Radial Symmetry no longer requires 3rd party plugins. That said, there's no real surprises here. Most of this was in the 2021 updates in some form. It's interesting to see that there has been some weld related changes, as hopefully that means…
Here is my opinion on the game and peoples reaction after 100 hours or so of playing. Firstly it is no scam product and accutly those things the devolpers left out are planned and they must have been stupid and posted plans instead of stuff that is already in. Also none of those people were banned falsely because humans…
Hi! I've been working really hard on my final. This was my first time ever doing foliage, or something this stylized. I had a lot of fun with this, and honestly want to do more in the future.
i think from our side we might not apply for it again, it is just made for a different kind of company than ours. That being said, we have been lucky that we never have been fully dependent on it. other studios died while waiting for the funds to happen, it was the first time this program existed, so as to be expected a…
Thanks! I do want to add more stylized pieces that don't have the issues of the older works. Also all the stylized pieces are interpretations vs the realistic ones where I tried to be as accurate as possible, and my professional work has been in realism as well, so it makes sense how my career in the industry is shaping…
I thought I'd post some thoughts here, since I've been feeling sort of professionally lost, down and out of late, so bear with me as I toss out some thoughts. I have some questions intermixed with my thoughts, I'll try to bold them so you guys can find them, if you feel like offering some input. I've been feeling that my…
LOL I have to update this thread because I understand WHY seams and creases are made. OK First I must define Seams and Creases. Seam(s): to refer to a place on a surface where 2 materials or textures meet; in which the pattern of the pixels is broken causing a visible line. Crease(s): to refer to a place where CONFLICTING…
What he says here half makes sense and half doesn't. "because its dark" - this bit makes no sense. Materials do no become less reflective when less light hits them, this is simply nonsense. If you multiply AO on your spec, this means that if you have a dynamic light pointed directly at that section, it will not reflect at…
This really pisses me off - I know exactly what it feels like - been hit with the banhammer even after being given the greenlight to show stuff. "company secrets / revealing company technology" - yeah because noone knows what concept art or 3d models are or what wireframes look like, that shit is voodoo man top secret!…
