It's an emo reboot. Emo is the new "it" in everything entertainment. Be it look or personality or whatever. I can't say I'm happy about it, but honestly the feel of DMC changed a lot from 1 to 2. And by 3 I tried to stay in but 4 hours was all I could muster. 4, if they took it back to the feeling of 1 I'd be all over it.…
Thanks guys. I can see how this is basically a simple formula, but I'm still not sure what or how to calculate and apply it...... the object I'm building and texturing is a static prop (vehicle), it's dimensions are: length:512 units (1 unit = 1 cm), and width and height both: 256 So the object, at 512 width x 256 height…
Hard drives: 1. Some older SSDs would get slower over time, but afaik that problem doesn't exist or is significantly reduced in newer drives. 3. OCZ and Crucial. I've heard more good things about Crucial but OCZ drives have a better read/write balance. If your not too attached to the idea of Using SATA you might want to…
Yeah I've been doing freelance for about 1.5 years now, it sure was a rough transition not working directly with other people in the same space. I am lucky enough to have my fiance around so she keeps me from getting lonely. While at my PC I also have a few other freelancers on IM to chat with, it's almost like being…
Hello Polycount! I'm working on a new environment based from the movie Tekkon Kinkreet and I would like to post my progress here from start to finish. Currently I have just done a general block out to get my proportions down before I move into the detailed modeling. I'm not looking to match everything 1:1 to the concept,…
it seems valve is taking a cue from hollywood on the trailer making front, lots of tightly pack action sequences strung together with drama elements woven in and the 1 to 2 seconds of after trailer trailer. still havent played episode 1. some parts look cool, the really fast moving crab head looks a few steps down in…
So I hear it's common practice to combine a displacement map for fine detail, but for the really fine stuff, micropores, wrinkles etc you combine that disp map with a normal/bump map. I'm having a hard time baking these out and making them fit. Here's some tests. I'm baking from subdiv 6-1 in the first two. But when you…
Warheart's got you on the right track. The Copy Skin Weights tool will do what you want, and can even transfer from multiple objects to 1 object. Make sure your new mesh is bound to the joints you want. Then just select all your meshes to transfer FROM then select the mesh to transfer TO then hit copy weights. EDIT: Reread…
Thanx alot guys! I will ditch the base and find another solution to present it. @killazzz : the grunge on the bottom back is actually less than the ref I shot. (some ref pictures can be seen a bit earlier in this thread) About the upper part from the back you are completly right. But I cannot really change it that much…
Thanks guys for your help. I downloaded FBX importer. I tried to import simple mesh with 1 amoothing group and normal map from Handplane. First I exported high and low as FBX. I baked Object space normal map. I converted it to 3ds max normal map with Handplane (I read cryengine is synced with 3ds max). I used fbx exporter…
