love that color scheme! but i agree with eric, the spec and roughness are a bit off, maybe make it like rough plastic or rubber. PS: if i had a pet t-rex i would call him "the law". get it? because of the long arm of the law... i'll leave now
full-size robotic T-rex. back when i could be scared, this scene had me in shitless awe. and to you who say its all CG, they actually made a robotic prop for this scene, which had to be constantly dried off, because of the rain soaking the electronics.
@ifuxedup I see! thanks, a bit of the same critique that you gave me with swirl mustache, everything is on the same plane. As far as proportions, I see now that her elbows do not line up with her navel, T-Rex arms? XD Thanks for your time dude :)
pretty humorus little clip of the character animators in action on Kong.. i thought the one guy talking about using tigers for reference on the T-rex was cool.. might make it a little more fun to watch than just your run of the mill bird walking dinosaurs.. http://www.kongisking.net/perl/newsview/15/1128704366
Working on this T-Rex! I think the skin and overall shapes are pretty much done, now I just have to wrap up the eyes and pose, then render! I can't decide if I want to do a simple BPR render, or throw it in substance painter to add roughness variations and AO on the skin.
Hey welcome to the digital sketchbooks germophobic! I like what I see so far, You can do a ton with that t-rex depending on what style you're shooting for, and by the looks of it you got some good anatomy going. Hope to see some really awesome stuff from you.
I agree with daphz. I would highly suggest finding some T-Rex/various dinosaur muscle anatomy and referencing from that before moving on. Your creature is very dinosaur like, so maybe work in some scales too. Here's some good reference for details once you get there.
Heh, that is the one area that wasnt clear on the original Sorlag model... were those pointy things comming from the chin or large teeth. I decided to make them more 'T-rex' looking teeth, but this looks just as sweet. Just a critique IMHO, I would emphasize the cheekbones, eyebrow bone and the bony crest more.
Progress Update: Changed the horns .Made them spiral but not sure if this is looking better or not. Added teeth. Used T-Rex teeths for reference and tried to sculpt based on that. Im still struggling with details. Im not getting that scale feeling. Im not getting any feedbacks nowadays so I really need to know how I'm…
You guys are blowing my mind with this art goodnes! Ilve been working on an idea for a new character and possibly a series of characters. Sort of a saturday morning cartoon meets a River city ransom/scott pilgrim brawler. Oh and he has a T rex for an arm. The sculpt is still a little messy but any crits and critiques are…
