Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it. @Peyd3d =) You’re absolutely right about the shading issues. I’ve gone over the meshes several times and addressed a number of those areas already. Some of the round and beveled assets were causing issues, so I’ve increased the geometry there to improve the…
Cant the forum software detect the file size of images being posted and throw up an error/warning that its beyond the max size the forum allows? Same with number of images, I've seen numerous forums that limit the number of images per post.
Hello! I'm a 3D student searching for 3D classes in Canada, specially but not only, in the Toronto area. I found this course in Humber College called 3D MODELLING AND VISUAL EFFECTS PRODUCTION, but could not find any information about the class program, students or ex-students portfolio or opinions about the course. Which…
Is there any way (via script or otherwise) that you can scale UVs numerically inside 3ds max 2013? I've got a modular brick wall mesh that uses a tiling texture. I need to be able to scale the unwrap to an exact percentage (800%) so that the mesh maintains the seamless tiling of the brick. Currently I've been unable to…
It controls the number of decimal places that each numerical value is stored with in the OBJ. Higher # of decimals = higher precision, but also = bigger OBJ file. No standard number AFAIK, as long as file size is not an issue for you. If it is an issue, then try testing different #s, see how far you can go. Similar to JPG.
Im not sure i get your question correctly. It does work technically, i.e. if I set those "Switch" integer value to 0 it will be for sure interpreted as "false" and integer 1 will gives "true". So technically - it works, but from UI point of view it doesnt make any sence since in designer the variable are clearly declared…
How do version numbers for software or builds work? Is there a universal way of doing them or are there many ways of using them? I had been working on a boardgame in my spare time called JIZZ WIZARDS! using a pbwiki, and have been using a version number for updates. How it works is, version 1.0 is reserved for when I would…
Ryan, I'm finding the type-in numerical fields kind of hard to use. The number becomes half-hidden when I edit it, making it hard to see what I'm typing. It would also be helpful if I could use arrow up/dn keys when editing, to increment in whole numbers up/dn, like Photoshop does.
It's easy enough to write a script that converts a smoothing group to the same number material, but how do you want to deal with faces that have multiple smoothing groups (since a face can only have one material ID)? I ask because I already wrote a script for this but it just takes the first smoothing group (in numerical…
"It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, but that not every one is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite nuber of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so if every planet in the Universe has a populations of zero then the entire population of…
