Hey Polycount, Some of the Dota players here at Weta Workshop have been working on item submissions. Our first one had a mixed response, so we've gone back and worked on a redesign. Re: How much to value an used item?
Go on ebay, search for the item, click on "completed listings" and click on "used". This will show you the going rate for it on eBay, and should be a pretty good gauge of general value. Green prices means the item sold, red prices means the item did not sell. You will need to be signed in to ebay to do this. -

I don't know Blender, but in Max you have to export both the item and the bone used with the item, as one. Also, sometimes whatever you place doesn't necessarily work with the assigned bone, but where another might do better - in your case - perhaps the one of the head bones.
