Hi ! I'm starting to create items for DOTA 2 but I have some problems I had in the past with TF2. I created my item but when I export it to show up in-game it's not where it should be and it's scaled down : Here's what I've done, maybe one of you have a solution : - I've used the official reference and not the decompiled…
Hey, guys and gals. I created my first Dota item. What do you think? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=176635427 Looking forward for constructive criticism :P
Thanks, I already posted on dev.dota on a particle bug thread that anuxi created yesterday, but will upload it when its finished and leave a dev comment and look trought dev.dota thank you man.
@Lando_Mange: no you can't. You can only create items but not edit the base model/texture itself. (That's what valve calls "arcanas" and they are made by valve only) EDIT: simultaneous posts lol...
Quick note: Geometry does not need to be continuous. I'm not sure I should give this away, but you need to start thinking outside the box. To create the illusion of complexity, you must layer geometry.
@tommy, it is possible but you'd have to create your own bones to simulate the jiggling as well as go through the installation files and start changing some code around. I'm not really sure of the process, but it is possible.
Finished the hipoly for the set I'm creating with Foxclover. I'd love to hear some feedback on it though! If anyone can tell me something I should improve before moving on to retopo and baking. Enjoy!
Thanks for the information guys, so I can just use the HL2 particle tool to create a pcf and just include the PCF and a .txt detailing where I wanted it to be attached in the .zip that is submitted to the workshop?
Wow, that's really great to hear that we got someone who helped create a movie to work along side us as workshop artist! Courier looks great guys, Fantastic work on the animations as well
I think it looks cool as heck, I just don't like the fact its made out of rocks. The emphasis on the lava like glow creates a nice contrast though. It's got my vote!
