Working on a system in UE4 to render quick HDR beauty shots of models kind of like Marmoset. Testing that system out, here are some images of the beetle I made for this scene:
It won't be quick and easy even if you aren't new to it. 90+% of people will get better results faster if they do it by hand (using prebuilt modules etc) It only makes sense to develop an automated system for this sort of thing if you have a shit load of them to make or if you want to make the system for the fun of it
I mean I've trained up 2 juniors over the last decade, and they took up 50% of my time for 4 months. And then their work had to largely be redone because it didn't work. Quality of work is a non-starter. Your work has to be pretty close to senior quality to get a job. The problem is a lot of what we do in games are now…

I bought world machine a while back and I am thinking it may be a quick way to create it e.g export a small terrain from WM, edit this in mudbox (to make look like a cave system) flip the mesh 90° in modo and then create the cave…
Okay so here is my query, I am trying to create a glowing particle system within a lantern. Basically I want there to be a main particle system and then have particles coming off the main particle and collide with the glass of the lantern. Right now there is no custom collision on the glass besides just the one UDK put on.…
Mac have more useful software. I would go for linux if that have apps I use. I love this system but it always same. People not using system because there is not software, and there is no software because people not using system... (and that also a reason why MS is stucked within Windows, they can't simply break…
Twenty billion isn't the cost to manufacture this vehicle, it's the budget for the entire program which is developing about a dozen different systems (various manned and unmanned vehicles, launch systems, weapons systems, etc). This just happens to be one of the things they are developing. Not that it's money well spent,…
