Hi! Did you create manual lightmap UVs? Doing so, you could add another loop in the flat area and then lightmap UV the whole opening as a straightened strip. You could probably ditch the bevel and let the baked lighting do the edge smoothing. The other way would be to simply increase lightmap resolution. Share the mesh if…
As the PS5 and XBox2 are now widely talked about being in development at particular studios with what might be a 2019 or more likely 2020 release date, I was wondering if we could start getting on down to some technical performance chit chat. From an artistic point of view if we can see what we should be gearing ourselves…
Hello folks! I'm opening up a project that I've been introduced to. The game theme has been set however the brief is very open and flexible for people of all skill levels! 2D or 3D, it doesn't matter! We're looking for creative minds to spit ball with. Game setting - Construction sites, scaffolding, rubble, diggers, high…
Heya guys, started to work on the helmet a little bit. Not gonna lie, Zbrush and I aren't the best of buds so this will be a challenge :D Let me know what you think!
Hi! It looks like you may have made your model in zbrush, and the model itself is pretty messy, which is not helping you out here Things like this draw attention away from your textures and give the impression that you didn't want to spend the time to clean up the model. Did you do any research or find any references to…
Yeah I see what you mean about having that back building lit up. I was thinking that having the back building all lit up but no people in the scene would make it look a bit odd. But you're definitely on to something with having the christmas lights going on back there and crazier looking. Thanks for the crits.
Thanks Tully, more great advice! I'll take note of what you've said, it's interesting you mention photo ref being a bit hit/miss because I did my first attempt today and found the lighting was casting some odd shadows which didn't really highlight the forms of the body very well and it ended up becoming more of an art test…
Looks interesting. I would make the water a bit transparent at least at the borders. The lighting is a bit weird like the mill is being lit from inside. Are you using LPV or something like that? I would add a bit more ssao to the scene. The overall scene looks a tad overexposed, dunno if its a lut that you are using or…
Cool project! It's not a bad idea to have the inside inverted (showing inwards) for the liquid. Could be a third mesh as well, and doesn't have to be fully opaque. If you have a stronger, more focussed key light, the inner mesh will then be lit opposite of that and with a higher roughness it will imitate a scattered light…
Looking good Spitty, it took a minute to recognize her in the first pic but she's getting there. A couple things that stand out to me: The chhekbones could be a bit fuller/rounder going into the mouth. The crease on the lower eyelid is a little to sharp. I think the size is right but its a bit too obvious from the front.…
