the hydrant looks preatty good, but pillar doesnt do so well you could enhance texture of pillar maby by using diferent texture to inside of holes to make a point that it is the inside, rubbled part, not as soft as outside painted concrete?and you could bring out the cracks that you got on normal map made of hi poly by…
Doing a Digital Lighting and Compositing module at college and my idea is a sword and shield hanging on a wall. One asset has to be in the foreground and one in background and my idea is to take a backplate photo of a long wall at an angle to get most of the wall in picture with one close to camera and one far away. The…
hi everybody, this is my first post here (after lurking the boards for quite some time). i study MMA (multimediaart :P ) in salzburg/austria. this is some of my work this is a more or less finished piece - a character i built for an aniamation short that never was finished note that i didnt do all of the texturing -…
I want to recreate a scene in UDK but I am struggling to decide whether I want to just use meshes that I will create in 3ds max, or if I should be using brushes to create the most simple geometry. Obviously if I were going to make a simplisic building I'd use brushes, but the scene I want to re-create is a bit more complex…
I just love these comercials...I've spent the last 40 minutes laughing my ass off and gigling like a school girl. check them out here http://thefuntimesguide.com/movabletype/archives/2004/10/bud_light_real.html my favorites Mr. Really Bad Toupee Wearer - ...it couldnt look phonier if it had a chin-strap Mr. Furniture…
Hey, @kadeschui , a little late to the party but I'd say that for environments the 'Watchtower' and 'Little astronomer's room' seem like pretty good choices. For props I like the 'Hammer' but I don't know about the 'Memory Orb' as the hard surface option, but it still seems good anyway, so there's that. Mike Hill himself…
yeah I'd agree with the rest about the gold, I guess it would make sense if there was a very bright light source nearby that would cause the gold to really shine. Since the chest itself seems little old I would tone it down and rough the surface a little bit (as if the the golden plates were gently hammered on the wood -…
You also have to realize that Crytek hasn't been licensing out their engine as long as Epic Games, they're still trying to hammer out the details. Personally, I love the Cryengine. I found it easy to understand, it's all realtime (no baking of lights), even exporting stuff out of Max and Photoshop seems pretty easy IMO.…
I like the pose, it looks like you've got the power triangle comp set up right. Is the figure on the far right going to be in front of the leg? His scale looks like he is a little closer to the camera. I might pull your main character closer to the centre of the frame so that the leg isn't getting completely cut off from…
Looks neat! Bake looks it's without errors in there. Only things I got in mind are about the design. First, the handle looks very short (at least from the view angle of your render). Not much space for a hand to hold it comfortably. It looks like it's just barely long enough to hold on to which brings to another thing. The…
