Setting up these relatively low poly assets, roughly 500 tris each. I'm okay with the meshes but the textures just aren't convincing me. Textures have always been a bit frustrating to me so I'd like to hear any kind of feedback or if I'm missing something painfully obvious direct me to a Textures 101 tutorial if it's that…
Older games are probably going to be ~500 tris. At that point polycount is more determined by what you need just to convey the form than anything else. I've always been more curious about newer games. Here's an old list I have: ...and here's a much longer list.
My helmet saved my life already. 70 MPH high side in a corner. My helmet hit the ground many times during that wreck. \ Helmet was trashed but my head was OK. BIke was so-so. Grumpntug, your bike is new fangled compared to my CB500 and 550
Motorcycle seems to be looking good... Would be nice to post something bigger than 800 x 560. I can't really see your details. I like the way you presented it! Good job on that but I think the border you have going around it way too thick.
Vertex book has some great tutorials about hand painting. Download it for free. http://www.artbypapercut.com/ Check these links too: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1515379&postcount=170 And finally, take a look at Dota Texturing guide:…
Me either, Adam. When I play on ranked servers, there is 'lag' of some kind, but I don't know what it is. My ping (and everyone else's) stays 30-60, but it's like I have a 500 ping. It is REALLY pissing me off, and is certainly not helping my farken stats.
about 5-10k seems pretty good. Typically an FPS weapon is about as important as a character, since it usually takes up at least as much screen space and possibly more screen time. For a third person shooter I'd cut that down to 500-5,000 depending on the size and complexity of the weapon.
I have the AL1916W and would give it a 5 out of 5. It is VERY bright and clear. It had one dead pixel, though (no biggie). I paid $170 US for it 2 years ago. I would recommend ACER monitors, don't know about whatever other products they have.
$250 is what, around £170 these days? You should be able to get something, but not something fantastic. If you are not an audiophile (I'm not), then you'll be more than happy with the sound. My first 5.1 setup was an all in one job that cost £100 and I knew it was cheap, but it still sounded good to me.
