I get that you're frustrated, but all of your questions have been answered, which ones haven't? Honestly I think you did a poor job of pointing out of what's wrong and what you wish to fix. It could be a problem that you think something is wrong but isn't. You use a lot of words but don't get specific enough. In your first…
I'm not a super avid Modo user these days but I'll tell you what I know about how Blender's selection and normal editing compare to Modo. Selection isn't smart like Modo in that you can't press the up arrow and continue the selection. However, checker deselect does that job in the majority of cases. There's also the…
the needs are just planes attached to the branches, with a alpha and the needed textures, the tree can be made with lofting splines pretty easily like this. can just keep lofting between deformed nurbs circles to make the trees geo. Branches are prolly just intersecting cylenders
Man this thing shaped up beautifully. I prefer the new composition, although I kinda agree with Blaisoid - I think you've hit or are approaching a point of diminishing returns, especially with the composition coming almost full circle from when you started.
You do not have a lot of room left over for Padding, some of your UV Islands are way to close to each other (the circled ones). And all the strips you have should be straight not tilted. Also some of the shapes can be packed more efficiently.
Yes, you have to apply one after the other to make the actual split. Do you have an example that shows the face-deletion happening ? I only did a quick test with a box and a nurbs circle which worked fine, but maybe it's too simple.
turn on more radial iterations (more red circles) until you only have to move it a little bit. (the new constant layer brush is good for this part so its an even indentation) I'm not sure what your talking about regarding stencils....
I just got back from SD and it was awesome. Got a great deal of $40 a night at the Holiday in in Hotel Circle, through Priceline. They have free WiFi for guests. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CAR. I would love to move there my self.
That circle part, were it looks like a flat head screw. Metals going straight across. Looks like it should be in pieces, not one solid chunk. Thats all I can pick at this hehe. The gun should have smoke coming out for effect ;]
removed the link, it was an artificial benchmark test (48 to 48 000 sided circle) to prove the adversary effect of thin triangles on performance NOT suggesting to use certain layouts for "caps" of low poly, with so little geometry at hands interpolation artifacts are much more dominant...
