hmm yeah, the textures are incredibly noisy, too much contrast ranging from black to almost white. You need to bring that to a more natural level. I don't think you can import things that are not in a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. Just make a photoshop file and use it as something like 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 and put your alpha there.
Its the above picture. I can shrink or enlage that, and then repeat in order to make the pattern. The problem is the dimensional fraction never allows enough to gain a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio mathmatically.
