great work! the armour design is something special. thinking about small tweaks: the eyes. make use of a sphere for the eyes and wrap the lids around the form.
Thanks Fabi! It's getting close. Finishing up in Substance Painter then onto Blender to wrap him up him for now. Few more texture tweaks on the front and back claws, then it's onto rigging and posing The next comment should be the final piece.
Would be cool if alignment and size space mode could check if you are painting in 3d viewport or 2d viewport and adjust accordingly. Tangent wrap/object for 3d, UV and texture for 2d.
I've been steadily trying to wrap up this small scene in Marmoset. I still have a few textures/errors to fix but at the same time wanted to get some opinions on how to push and improve the lighting. More contrast?
wrapping him up finally, I made some Arnold renders and worked on some finishing touches, here's the link with more images https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Ga2PbB
I cant seem to wrap my head around how this would work. For example, a rug with a pattern on it - how would a detail color map work for the rug pattern?
Fantastic work vimkerk! I'm curious as to how you made the linen wrap around the ax handle. It looks really fantastic and it's something that's always been a bother for me.
Hmmm, you could probably use something like the skin wrap modifier (taking the animation from the original mesh. There's probably a more efficent way of doing it though.
