I am looking for a simple MaxScript to speed up my workflow. When I press tilde (The key to the left of the number '1'), I want Max to check the modifier stack of all objects with the prefix "HP_" for a TurboSmooth. If non exists, add one to the top of the stack with 2 iterations, but if one already exists, then make the…
Hello, I will not go over all the reasoning for the adoption of the "EA Sports-like" set of tools as some sort of exercise, or even as an admittedly useful shortcut to reduce some tedious aspects of model creation. That is because even though tech knowledge never hurts and can be indeed be very useful ... it is a moot…
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2007/1005-bungie.htm [ QUOTE ] "Our collaboration with Bungie has resulted in Halo becoming an enduring mainstream hit," said Shane Kim, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios. "While we are supporting Bungie's desire to return to its independent roots, we will continue…
Hi guys! Different kind of pimping here. Would love some feedback on this as well. (I've also posted this to my blog: http://www.jonjones.com/2013/08/27/worklog-how-to-create-an-art-wall/) Art management time! Has anyone created a wall grid full of printed art assets for basic tracking and visualization? How did you do it…
Huh..not to be negative, but isn't this just e-ink combined with pen pressure input? I mean..it's a cool combo, but looks a lot like how drawing on an old kindle might look..complete with the e-ink refresh weirdness (definitely visible on when the people press UI buttons with fingers), limited pressure input (hard to…
We end up buying stuff from turbosquid rather often. I'm really not a fan...70 percent of the time the models are absolute shit. A lot of the time we end up purchasing high poly vehicle models. Had the most luck with vehicles so far. If we pay $150 bucks or something, it ends up being cheaper than having one of us spend a…
These examples are all valid - some will be better for ultra-low-end stuff (DS, mobile games etc), like the last example there. For higher-end stuff, it's always going to look better if you have more polygons in the areas that deform, otherwise you can end up with a fairly ugly "sharp" lowpoly silhouette. Joint position is…
Hey guys first time poster here. I have been modeling for quite some time but I usually work on higher end stuff so low poly is really a stretch for me ( I guess I should say a crunch) any how a few questions. First off here is my model and the map http://www.youtube.com/v/hM2eoLw6PTE&hl=en&fs=1 and here is the texture map…
for the budget constrained, great tablet options you have! http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/Bamboo/BambooTablets.aspx I have the old Bamboo Pen and Touch (now replaced by an Intuos4 L), and apart from the size not fitting the way I work (hence the L :P), I found it a very very good tablet to use. Dont let the pressure…
It's a complete dead end. The model graph is deprecated co you can't manipulate meshes at all. If you're talking about generating displacement maps and deforming geometry then I guess it's useful in the same way that it is in any other tool. It's an image processing and compositing tool, best to treat it as such
