I bought ZBrush directly from Pixologic, but with a huge student discount price. I believe I had purchased it for $350-400. It was so long ago that unfortunately I cannot recall! However it does come with free upgrades. I would email customer support and ask.
@anura @BagelHero : Here is one with wire frame. This was class project and my instructor gave us pretty high limit for hero characters. (limit of 40K tris exclude weapon, base and hair) @JadeEyePanda : Thank you for your advise. I was thinking about that too. Skin is hard.....
wow lol i thought i was bad since i had the revelation of doing the pit system like that in a dream :P 404'd on minecraft.net, seems notch is under fire again from botnets. Server side auth is down too, so smp is dead for now =/
This might sound daft but can someone please save me a zbrush project from 4r5 (can just have a sphere or something in) with radial symmetry turned on and set to 100. I just had a crash and it seems that whatever the radial count was set to (in this case 40) has somehow been stored and it won't allow a larger number to be…
[ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKXeiCHi7Go"]Hand Held Game Environment - YouTube[/ame] A university module required a scene compiled of 15 assets, at under 50000 triangles in total, in the theme of "destroyer". The video link above shows my work so far. It ran at 30-40 fps on an iPhone device when the draw calls…
In the past, I've charged $400 for DS rez (below 500 triangles/128x128 texture). For 1500 Tri's 512x512 Textures I would charge around $3000 depending on the complexity. ($75/hour) $80 a day is below minimum wage where I'm from. Absolutely no chance that's 'Average' for a freelancer. :/
It is really interesting to see someone else creating something from Warhammer 40k. I am currently working on a Space Marine Bolter, which would actually be the first model I have made (I'm fifteen). Well anyway, great model, seems pretty spot on, good job.
Lighting is definitely looking better, I like the fact you've separated the 3d and 2d on the page, looks much clearer now. When I try to download your resume I get a 404 error though, something to look into. Looking forward to seeing your wow 3d piece :)
More of a problem is that images that small shouldn't be as large as they are 40k+ for a lot of them, even doing save for web in photoshop at 80%(which is overkill for thumbnails) is mostly under 15k. Saving images in rows is only going to make it a PITA when it comes time to actually update the site with new work.
well I think it would be even harder to get your company to buy this, not sure how I would get them to buy a 400$ plugin. well hope they go back to the drawing board with their sales tactics because I'm pretty sure they would be bathing in money if it was around 100$
