I have been thinking come September am going to be in my final year, not soon after that my 3ds max license will dry up. where do i go from there, what did you do? Do I go and buy a license, or do I go and take a stab at free stuff like blender. What paths did you take to the "industry".
I'm currently studying at Derby University doing Computer Games Modelling and Animation and the course is really good - it has its flaws but overall its a real great course to be on. We have a guy named Dave Wilson leading the course (worked for Evolution Studios on Motorstorm), when he took over the course he revamped it…
Hey guys! Been working on a freelance project for some time now and looking to get some feedback on the final models. Will be posting up the case as soon as it's finished and will post up some texture showcase renders as soon as I've finished moving into my new place. Any feedback is hugely appreciated :)
A couple of portraits, mostly for practice and for use in my homebrew DnD campaign. Trying to get a little looser with my brush strokes as I think I tend to over-smooth and make things look fuzzy and blurry at the edges and that things look like clay or plastic. Any critique is welcome Orc boi Jonathan (corrupt city…
got some time for ref searching; you'll need a few variants of each object and surface the main reference contains - the main ref can't really be trusted to give you enough details and answers (what does the wear&tear on the wood floor look like? How many meaningfully different vials, jars and flasks with different labels…
1st off nice thread title... 2nd, it's too bad that you didn't get an answer but posting a technical question in a P&P thread where people are showing their work probably won't get your technical question answered. Hit up tech talk with a new thread, but I'm not sure a general art board like this will be able to answer a…
I don't think it's only 2 people working on a map in a studio, but anyways... If it turns out 1 dm map is too small, then people can always do another one and reuse assets or expand the theme. But starting big and realizing it't not gonna work,... To be honest, I was really shocked that the last project went down the same…
Shiniku, Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. I must admit I was a little disapointed at the lack of activity initially but I completely understand people do this off their own backs so I can't expect instant results and from what I usually see the feedback is worth the wait. However as it's a Uni project due at…
Thanks again for all the feedback, I'll be sure to start picking up some of these new learning resources over the next couple of days so I'm not shooting in the dark as much! Wow thank you for pointing this out to me, this is exactly what I needed to see! When drawing I used Loomis' guides heavily early on and It's clear…
