At the moment, I am developing a horror game environment for my final major project at university, drawing inspiration from Highgate Cemetery, Victorian spiritualism, and classic British/American horror films like Hellraiser and The Exorcist. My tutor recently shared on Polycount that he visited Highgate Cemetery after…
I was making Jeff Bridges in that white suit of the trailer when suddenly I found myself thinking that if this man has been caught twenty years in TRON, he surely will be a little tired of everything, just spending time... like Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowsky: The Dude. So I started to think about it, about changing the…
I think the Victorians had cobbled streets. Tar and aspahlt would look too modern, to me anyway. Probably quite dirty too, lot of horses around back then... :) A victorian street lamp would fit in nicely too.
I would have to agree. If you're going for Victorian Era then you need engraving, detailing, metal working. The Victorians lavished everything with a sense of extreme workmanship. Stuff like this:
I really like the idea of this, all the different colors / themes would be cool and would be very helpful in learning. But i still do like the normal Victorian and Steam punk Victorian ideas as well.

Also, you might want to look into a more steampunk look, with brass and generally a bit rugged. Just some ideas for later!
By the way, the victorian london thing was supposed to be victorian london/disney, like cycloverid's banner. This might be hard, but if we take several pieces from a couple of different people, and them ask them to explain their process taking something realistic and representing it how they did, then maybe we can teach…
From this i feel more of a wild west showgirl kind of deal rather than elegant victorian. For elegant victorian i'd say make the dress a bit less floral and a bit more "smart," give her a hat on top of the hair, and replace the fan with a parasol. The hairstyle itself looks about right to me, as long as it's a ridiculous…
Just getting a few pieces done for my reel, and thought I'd post 'em up as I go : ) I'll kick it off with this late victorian tomb I've been working on. Hires is almost done, retopo and bake soon. Its based on reference, but I decided to personalise it a bit, and try to add a bit of flavour (added a few Roman elements to…
