can you do the last one if you change "pivot center" to active element and "transformation orientation" to normal? and make sure the face you want to align to is selected last so it is active selection
@Justo That sounds to me like the sync setting for UVs. In the top left of the UV editor, there should be a button with two arrows. With it you can toggle between two modes: - always show all UVs and sync the selection between UV editor and 3D viewport - only show UVs of geo that is selected in the 3D viewport and allow…
I don't really see a big difference in usage here, if you drag your selection until you cover a part of a face or drag it a bit further to cover its center, is pretty much the same. I often have to select underlying faces and find the selection by center very useful in that case, don't remember how it is handled in other…
Thanks for your quick answer. Not exactly sure about your paragraph, you might have misunderstood or I haven't described detailed enough. Click and drag using the tweak tool works ok for me in Blender as it is. In Modo, the tweak tool only affects the selected polygons, if polygons are selected. It acts as if the…
box and lasso select behave exactly the same on my setup, that is, i do not need to touch the center point of any face to add it to my selection regardless of what display mode my mesh is set to. picture shows my selection results with 'limit to visible' turned on which is also the only mode i ever tend to work on. if i…
For a while I've been looking for a little bit more versatile selection growth, and that indeed looks promising. Nice. Another thing... It would be nice to have kind of a "selection only" mode in the edit mode where you can't modify your mesh, but only select vertices, edges and faces. Like pressing "Q" in Maya or Max.…
Hi. See if this works: select_all_sharp.py It can be installed like a third-party addon through User Preferences. It should add a "Select All Sharp" menu item to the (edit mode) Select menu and to the Edges menu.
@DireWolf Hi direwolf, you can use in the outliner shortcut B (boxselect) the lights are highlighted, now use 'rightclick' in the menu you can then use 'select' now those lights are selected in the 3D Viewport.
Thanks, but this clears only your selection, I was looking for a way to have some faces selected and while working on vertices/edges, have those faces still there when I switch back to face mode.
