Plus if you wanna cheat...well you can just alt tab, set the PC time to next day and then back again and it'll complete apparently. But cheating is for chumps :P I'm about 40 hours in, I'm actually a bit burnt from it. The MMO like aspects of it are pushing me away and I'm pretty sure I'm on the final quest...it's hard to…
I'm wondering how well Copy would work as a solution for a giant shared reference/inspiration folder between polycounters? I'm thinking since it splits the files up, if we have 40 people on a shared reference folder that's 40 gigs big, that's only really using 1gb of space for everyone to have access to it. I'm just trying…
ImSlightlyBored the reason you had to do that to make it go straight up is because you have to explicitly tell it that you're moving it up in the Zaxis, if you just plug 40 into world position offset it doesn't know which direction you mean so it makes it 40,40,40 which will cause a diagonal transform, so if you want to do…
Is this it for the debate? no 2nd one? I don't like how they tiptoed around the economy, I want to hear some plans that don't involve the government buying businesses that we have to pay for down the line. ___________________________________________________________________________ aiight Fenster outta the gates picking…
This is another assignment done for class, was wondering what kind of pointers you had for me. Assignment was to model this object from the "Mass Effect" series, as well as create a diffuse, spec, ambient occlusion and normal map for it. Poly limit for the low poly model was 500, and I think mine got to around 350-400.…
Finally getting a chance to start work on my tiny mech character. He is similar in size and weight to the smaller Mech characters in Warhammer 40K. I'm going for a more playful approach rather than a serious take on the mech. Just getting a chance to block in the geo and get a rough rig in him. Working on some modeling…
A computer like that is really slowing both the artist and yourself down, even spending $100 on a used computer will give you something at least 8x better to work with. Spending about $400 on a used computer could get you something close to a low end modern gaming PC.
The thing is I already have prepared the lod1 model before I unwrapped lod0. Took quite the effort to go from 500 to 400 triangles considering the shape of the bow. That is why I am asking if I can somehow just import the uvm from the lod0 to lod1.
Wow. You've got near 400 posts and you still don't get how polycount functions. 1. post art - recieve crit - accept crit - become a better artist 2. post blog - recieve cat gifs - get angry - thread closed/ban hammer
hey you really should clean your plane model up a little.. it sits at 40k tris.. when it could easily be 10k without any visible loss whatsoever you got a huge number of edge loops in areas where the surface doesn't really change at all
