It's coming out here on the 20th, can't wait! Been looking forward to this game since it first previewed in like 2002! The daylight cycles sound awesome, I heard during multiplayer the maps will go from day to dusk to night, changing tactics, sounds too damn fun!
Hey guys, im trying to make a fat 17th century sikh warrior. im having a bit of difficulty finding references, especially with the clothes. Can any of you guys recommend a game character or a character from a movie or a comic anywhere that i can use as a guide for this guy? thanks in advance!
Starting June 20th I will be an Environment Artist at Genuine Games. So I'm moving to LA in 2-3 weeks. Not sure if I can say what the project is yet. When I know I'll post though. It'll be my first shipped game though so I'm real excited about it.
@zetheros thanks a lot for your feedback. I will think about it. @GRAT0R thx, there will be some more details on the normalmap. As for the blade, it is a real world blade from the 14th century. I've finished now all the modelling tasks and will now focus on the textures (both are still wip)
Daarkan, a concept artist at Blizzard, should have his website live by the 11th as well. Don't get too caught up trying to figure out which tutorials to view just start drawing. http://enliighten.com/ Edit: This as well http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm
right gonna be in Vancouver from the 20th to the 24th, no idea what im gonna do there so lets get some beers in. any tips on extra cool things to do, see, eat, drink while im there is appreciated, guide books are only sooo good.
something mayan or egyptian, probably a demon of some sort or a bondage figurine? found in the early 20th century, made of clay, about the size of a thumb? btw, something about grotesquely fat creatures makes me happy; can't wait to see how this turns out/
I'll be honest, I'm well into my 15th year at this point and I've jumped around various job positions to keep it fresh. But that's a personal thing. I don't think I would have liked doing the same thing this entire time ... But I'm doing art now and I'm loving it!
And what HAVE you been reading? Almost sounds like you've been reading some pretty uninteresting stuff. Don't limit yourself to our current-generation literature. Don't be afraid to go way back to 18-19th century. There was some pretty damn good writing back then.
jackwhat, I like him! He looks like he needs a hug though. :P G0th, cool shapes. My only issue is that I can't tell if it's assembled? poured? natural formation? or what. If it's assembled, some grout, or at least more definite definition to the pieces would be useful.
