I think i'm going to try option 2 and just see what happens. I already tried 4, 3 is not an option because i'm using default Painter without a cage file (used to always work, maybe not now?) Yesterday I deleted my parent dummy object, and this seemed to have fix one artefact. -

Here in Platteville we got 14 inches, so the Governor closed down the campus. It really isn't that much snow for WI.... E: My hometown, waupaca, got twelve, and my parents said it is still coming down, can't wait for some snowmobiling and taking my old s-10 out for some drifting! -

Isn't a Nexus 7 same price as a Kindle Fire at least? You should definitely prefer a Google device over an Amazon device! I have a first gen Nexus 7, still really happy with it after a year, even got my parents one too last christmas. And Apple devices are the opposite of the "cheap end" ;) -

I find it's more helpful to cycle thru both of them, each with a different hotkey. Then I have all the options at my fingertips. I also stripped Jim's coord sys script down to just the ones I use, and in the order I like them (local, parent, screen, world). Makes it so much faster. -

Projection does exactly what you're asking for in the first half. I'm having trouble picturing this dark/light transition working with a typical vignette styled texture. I've also got a question which may relate to the Max/Maya integration. I can understand doing VFX like fire and swirly lights for power ups etc, is it a bit different when it comes to particles coming from a weapon, for example. So particles coming from a mesh? Or is it just as simple as a parenting to the mesh thing? -

I tried parenting the mesh under a locator and than instancing, but no luck it still deletes the model when combining the master with another model. So far my ghetto solution has to been to use locators that store the transform of each instance and cut and paste the values back when I need to change the geo, kind of a… -

Of course! It's so simple. Light changes a colors value AND saturation. I only thought of light as value, I never considered saturation. Well it's working now. Once I implement this into the main parent I'll post a picture. Before Looks ten times better. It needs tweaking to find the perfect saturation depending on color… -

While I'm at it, let's share my current project: 3D visualization of my parents bathroom. Through this project I hope to learn more about organic vs hard-surface shapes (and getting those organic surfaces to look right) and practice creating various materials. At the moment I have started detailing the base-meshes.
