You can start with either Zbrush or Maya. Both are proper pipeline. However, if your anatomy skill isn't so great, I'd recommend you start in Maya to create basemesh first. Link - http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/head1.php
It's strange, if they wanted to go with futuristic designs they should replace the weapons. Considering the WW2 fixation of the Japanese they could replace the SAW with an MG6. For some reason I now want to make a mod for BF2 with cooler (and more distinct!) designs... The mod tool just went into final testing.
ww2, with intervention from a civilization of undead who appear in that crater in siberia... and fight to aid the nazis against russia... mwahahah dunno what im saying here. but yea... blending two highly dissimilar themes should do the trick.... if u do it right i guess
Thanks everyone! I'll check these out. I found a couple sales on a few of them too. While we're on the subject, does anyone use the expensive 3D mice? http://www.3dconnexion.com/ I heard they're not worth the dough, but I've never used one.
i found these http://www.geek-art.net/geek-art-loves-thiago-provins-batman/ http://www.3dinside.com.br/portifolio/foruns/Batman_Wip_05.jpg progress here: http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/threads/4313-Comicon-Challenge-filipelopes-Batman-Dark-Knight :) hope it helps!
PM's gonna go out tonight? Hey Waz, to get to Sam J's, an easy way is to just take the 99 to Commercial Drive, or get to your nearest Skytrain station and then head to Metrotown. SamJ's is easily within walking distance from the Metro Skytrain Station.
thanks for the feedback!!....I'm thinking about redoing the hair and eyebrows instead of the hair and fur modifier. any suggestions? Eyebrows just on the tpage? Also I modeled the eyelashes but not too happy with the results. I followed this tutorial..http://www.3dtutorials.sk/index.php?id=27
Decided to build another gun before taking on another environment. Have chosen another obscure gun to work on. The Owen Sub Machine Gun. An Australian gun that was used during WW2 and through the Vietnam war. It's a weird looking gun. Just started blocking and adding small details.
Looking good so far. I think adding a little bit more saturation will make it pop out more (the bricks in the cracked walls would seem to be more brighter red and the walls more cream). Looks like a WW2-set mediterranean environment unless I'm mistaken.
I'd say if you can get this tutorial : https://www.3dmotive.com/f101801 It should help you out here. I know it's Maya and you're working in Max but it's really easy to figure the core concepts out, I know I did. Hope this helps. Cheers -Baron
