Having the back faces crashing through the front can cause baking errors in your normal maps, ao, etc. It can also cause holes if you decide to dynamesh it. If you arent going to be using that inside geo, it's probably best just to delete it in the beginning prior to sculpting.
Watching the Walking Dead, I decided to whip out the old zBrush and have a play around with dynamesh. Still needs quite a lot of work while I can still play with the geo, then I'll crisp it up and get to work on the detail. Mostly just a bit of fun :P
here is a quick concept i did for the guy here is where i am at in zbrush i am not sure about his pose, i am thinking i'll have some baking issues under armpits. should the arms be further apart? also if anyone has any critiques so far? i am still in dynamesh soooooo
Hello, I'm doing my first character in Zbrush and need some help with the workflow - I did my sculpt (dynamesh/zremesh) and then polypaint my character - Retopo in topogun (in process) - Unwrap in Maya - how do I transfer the polypaint that I have in my high poly to the low poly mesh? Thanks
K got some dynameshing done!! going to go in maya n work on some basemeshing now...Ugh It's been so long since I've done art...debating between using alphas for the hair and learning to sculpt hair(leaning more towards the latter though, i feel it'll fit better with the stylized look.)
Hello everyone. It's been a long time here since my last post. I've finally found time to sculpt a new character during my free time. This character is completely done in zbrush with dynamesh. I'll be texturing and lighting him soon. I'll post more screenshots as and when I progress.c&c welcome.
Hey guys :) I'm having a habit of showing previous weeks of progress on the next week Tuesdays... xD Anyway here is my progress from last week, Cleaned up the dynamesh of the blockout and now I'm trying to figure out on proceeding further with secondary and tertiary shapes Feedback is always welcome!
Thanks CGYUC, I'll definitely give it ago! Luckily I learnt from my first project and I don't use Dynamesh anymore, I'll play around with that idea :# 100% with you on that one Cypherical, really constructive thank you, I'll be pinching any edge that can be pinched :p
Rough sculpt so you can conceptually figure out what's going on, using Dynamesh to get more quads as needed. Once you're where you want to be, retopologize for a clean mesh. Crease the edges you want, or add control loops in another program. Mak sure there are clean quads.
...I'm having bad luck. Does anyone who is good at Zbrush know how to sort this nasty poly stretching? I've tried Zremesher and Remesh and Dynamesh and all sorts and I just feel like I'm going to have to restart, but I'm quite far in now and don't really want to.
