Personal opinion on how to practice - it depends on how you learn best. I am overall inclined towards 3d, my brain works that way. Doing 2d drawings helps - as everything else help even if you practice anatomy by placing thousand of noodles on the floor to get the shapes - but I need to see the thing from all sides, work…
Hi everyone! I'm a long time lurker, first time poster and am very new to normal maps, etc. I've only been modeling for a year or two now, and I am hoping someone has some advice for this issue I'm having. I modeled this pistol from the show Firefly and was trying to adapt it for use in a game engine. So I retopologized…
No one has answered for a long time here, I update the topic so that someone else can see it, since I still don't understand why there is such strange padding in zbrush these images are parts of displacement map .exr 32bit in red channel (I brought the saturation down to 0 to easier see the difference) 1st one from zbrush…
Any idea on how to get some type of AO between the meshes? I'm able to get some AO without raytracing (1st picture) but once Ray Tracing is enable it's no more (2nd picture)... Most of the assets on the render are textured with a trimsheet.

Here's a project I'm working on that requires very optmized assets (needs to run on a chromebook) and i cant have realtime shadows. I was wondering if you guys had any feedback on how to improve on the visuals/style, I'd love to hear it, i've been staring at it too long and I'm not sure what to change first.…
Hi guys, I will be available near end the end on the month, I am looking for new projects (ideally lasting 2 months +), hit me up if you are interested, thanks!
My advice is to go there and not have a scripted idea of the questions you want to ask. Go with the flow of the conversation and try to act naturally. If you come to a 2nd interview thin king of what to ask and what to not ask you might come off as stiff or even strange. Dont get me wrong, asking questions is a good…
Wow! These are starting to look absolutely gorgeous! The 2nd and 3rd ones are perfect! The 2nd one more so, simply because there's a lot more contrast! Giving the floating skulls that glowy blue would also look wondrous. I might suggest spicing her hair up a bit (currently it's a bit too similar to her original), maybe add…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEGGNuGeBjI Long time no animate =] I've been having some 'life issues' but I went into Maya and sculpted a new animation based off my 2nd most recent 'walking ball' animation. I've hidden the arms for now since I don't know how to handle them yet. Good leg work? (if you see a weird hiccup on…
