How many different textures sets did you use for your landscape? There is no visible tiling anywhere even tho there isn't any foliage to hide behind it, and it's really impressive. Could you talk a bit about your workflow on this area? Thanks!
Quick-time events. Using a compass or directional navigation pointers when the landscape is designed to stop players from walking straight there. Giving players a lot of loot but poor ways to manage it. Dialog options that are just 3 different ways of saying yes.
Embedding the images (using the "Insert Image" icon that looks like a mini yellow landscape) rather than attaching them makes it easier for us to see them without changing screens, although this does require you to host them somewhere online.
I've kind of fixed it. I had a large landscape in the level before and after I deleted it, it significantly sped things up. It still takes up to 10 seconds when I undo actions though. I have 35 brushes atm.
Small project I randomly decided to make, modeled in Modo and used the materials within the program to texture. Wanted to give a storybook kind of vibe and experiment using geometry in the landscape and plant life. Also wanted to use this to explore lighting more. model
Bubbles!!! next step is detailing the rocks in the background, extra details to the build, testing some 3d plants instead of the one I have currently, and try to figure out why the skylight is making my landscape texture look washed out :S.
Even better. I had no idea about splat maps, or UDN landscape material in UDK, Thats definitely what i am going with. Beautiful. didnt need this thread after all. Ill leave it here in case anyone else is having a similar dilema
i'm 28. i'm bar-backing and working for my wife's landscaping business. i'm a couple years into this obsession with 3D and it's probably my only real passion nowadays, aside from my family. glad you've joined us, we've been expecting you. ;)
changed lighting, added "cheap" landscape and did this and that. So here are most likely the final shots. I quite happy how it turned out, given the short time invested. Though, this scene could use something to break up its regularity. anyways, shots:
I have a [ame]http://www.amazon.co.uk/UltraSharp-2009W-20-inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B002DKB92I[/ame] timwiese, define 'quite well', I am want a vertical viewing range to be a solid as the standard landscape orientation. Anything less is just going to be annoying. ;)
