Much like Substance Designer, Substance Painter seems to be focused primarily on producing post-effects like wear and debri. I tried using it to create a hand-painted texture, and was not at all impressed with the result. I'm still working on my exact process, but at the moment I'm using SD to bake out my normal map, then…
I wanted to ask if theres a way to merge two textures of the same type in Blender.I have three color maps I have painted on the same model with alpha.I have looked for a merge texture file feature.Appears there isn't any. The UV image editor doesn't have one as well. I tried baking out the textures to a new image file but…
@thaSlimShady nope, we're a pretty small team :) @Lephenix practice makes perfect man. The best tips I can give you for texturing is that you should be mindful that your textures provide context to a scene. You can see that material separation, different materials, and contextual indicators are three big components of all…
Not quite... the texture gets chunked up into small grids. There's an algorithm that then tries to preserve the gradient of colours across that grid (and at the same time, it compresses the depth of those colours down - red and blue more so than green because the human eye is apparently more finely tuned to green light and…
hey all, here's a little project Im doing to practice texturing/material definition. It's a "realistic" version of the Nerf Reflex gun (even though it would be physically impossible to load this thing with ammunition, let alone a magazine :poly124:) Im texturing it to look similar to a glock pistol (polymer grip with steel…
Hey guys, I am doing a negotiated masters and i am building a VR environment. For one of my Units i am doing a research project and it is based on getting the best detail out of textures as normals look flat in VR. so i did a simple test looking at Normals, Bump offset, Parallax and Tessellation displacement. I would like…
I am working on a modular FPS environment for UE5 I have this couch a medium sized prop. The player can get up close to the prop. How would be the best way to UV and texture this asset? Would you try and fit everything into a single texture or split it into 2 materials with the cushions being 1 texture/material and the…
I am reposting an old project that didn't go well. PROJECT DESCRIPTION I have made a zbrush sculpt, trying to create likeness to a real person. I think it's pretty close but it has issues and its not there yet. The character will end up as full body character, clothed in UE4. What I would like from you is: 1. Create the…
I've just reinstalled Quixel Suite on CC 15, but whenever I try and create a texture, all I get is the plain colour. Sometimes the texture does work, but modifying the texture intensity breaks it again; Any fixes to this?
If you're using tiling textures then 0-1 uv space isn't the limit. The space is effectively infinite because the texture repeats/tiles infinitely through uv space. You can stretch, overlap, and place elements where ever you like to align the textures. Just show the map in the viewport and move the uvs around until the…
