Though it was time to start working on stuff again. Dom War 1 rework WIP. About 38,000 polygons at the minute. Dom War 2 rework, since I wanted something to sculpt. Basemesh, using the hands from Arshlevons basemesh. C&C more than welcome.
Lots of ways to do this. Simplest approach: UV them while they are placed together, with a top planar projection, and use a tiled grass texture for the top faces. Edit the top vertex normals of all the pieces to face the same direction, so there are no shading seams when they’re placed together. UV the sides with a tiled…
Is it just me, or are you completely missing the houses in the rock on the right where the skybridge meets the rock face? The concept shows them hacking into the rockface for housing too, so it feels wrong to me to just meet the skybridge with rock. Presumably the bridge is there because the inhabitants of the pillar want…

Those guys just rock, rock, rock. Well I am zipping my mouth about the rest till the film is out.
Oh crap! I just figured out what the problem was... Feel free to mock me openly... I'm watching a Training DVD on character modeling in VLC in the background. Spacebar is the Pause key in VLC but its also the LOCK key in max, so I was locking my ability to select and deselect objects! Whoops!
Take a look at my rock/gravel texture Distance shot at medium: Distance shot at epic: Close up at medium: Close up at epic: This is what my terrain material looks like ( it's by no means complex ) As you can see I have only used 2 diffuse & 2 normals, the idea was to do more with less and I still have the option to use a…
