You're already doing abandoned/deserted man-made buildings. It's good to show a range, so you could do a clean sci-fi interior setting, or do a landscape type scene, or a more cartoony hand-painted scene of some sort.
Hi! This is a random concept of some kid (17-18 years old) in a post apocalyptic/sci-fi world who runs through city landscapes taking out enemys with his gigantic sniper rifle. Started out as a sketch in my sketchbook. Crits & comments are welcome!
Working on the snow material and landscape material and sadly the performace drops pretty hard. It's caused by the displacement, but it shouldn't impact the performance so enormous ... hopefully I did something wrong or I need to update my 6 years old PC :/
back from visiting ireland's incredible landscape and london's beautiful museums. I am so lucky : ) this brought tons of inspiration so I hope to keep this thing a bit more busy. A few more heads. Next sketch will be coloured.
Use a image hosting service, like http://photobucket.com/ to store your images. when you upload, Photobucket will give you an URL, with the adress of your image. Put this url between tags. Or use the landscape icon on the forum's text editor.
It's because when the lighting is not built they are using dynamic shadows. Your static shadow resolution is way too low. Either try increasing the res on the landscape (or mesh?) or untick the "use precomputed shadows" on the speedtree actors to always use dynamic shadows.
Wow! Great work! One thing I am really fond of is how you do you landscapes and backgrounds. That is something I just can't seem to get right and unfortunately drives the quality of my work down. Any pointers?
theres the landscape layer and then the grass plane ontop of it. Its what i was trying to demonstrate in the vids. the plane floats and then they use some kinda parrallax technique to create the illusion its that deep, so the illusion doesnt work on the very edge of the plane
It works for me when i link your image... all you have to do is get your image URL and click the landscape icon in the textbox and enter the images url. It'll add the IMG and brackets around it for you this is your image. " "
Here's an update of my small playable scene. I'm currently making progress on the landscape, story behind the train explosion, tree iterations and the wagon model itself. I would love to know what you guys think! I will keep posting updates.
