ODins3d the slide edge tool is not quite the same. With Max's adjust loop tool it adjusts both edges on either side of selected edge at the same time. Maya is just sliding the selected edge.
Ah Darcy good to see your stuff on here. Congrats on graduation. Your smart ass comments will be missed in class next quarter. One more for me and I'm out of here as well. Anyways back to the model. Looks like you have some good feedback on here so far. Some suggestions from me... -Try Poops suggestion on the holsters on…
Been struggling with this for a couple days now. I tried hand painting the fur to no avail and ended up going photo-sourced. The transparent planes I put in to simulate small tufts of hair sticking out from the body as well as the transparent covering over the eyes ended up causing unending technical problems( probably due…
To achieve this you can edit the cage . I am not sure about Maya but in MAx and Blender the tracing is happening in direction between low poly vertex and corresponding cage vertex. You can make the "face" side of a cylinder doing more like planar projecting , lesser of a lens effect for an expense of stronger distortion…

Hey guys, a great tide of cleanup has gone over my site--I updated with a lot of new work and tossed some old stuff that was not becoming. It's nice to have a little time off to get some things up, really. Tell me what you think? Updated portfolio!

Take a look at the prices for PS CS3 and 3DMax and Maya. It's riddiculously cheap. Is there anyway this is legit?…
My slow start on blocking things out has mostly consisted of getting a scale that felt right. It still feels as though the sides should be a little closer to the waistline, but in testing it always felt too top heavy so I need to play around with it some more. The travel path seems to work well around three people wide and…
Not always. If you have everything stitched together, you're going to get a lot of bleeding over corners and such. You want there to be breaks on places you want hard edges, say, the 4 sides of a building. You wouldn't want to stitch those sides together, since the lightmap will just blur across the corner and look like a…
Today I made a super quick rig test in order to get a better idea of how is the sheath going to look in motion and which hinge points do I need to model. Plus, I want to know how much of the rig will have to be computed in realtime by the engine. I'm not too happy about how the vertical strap is clearly stretchy. That's…
