Hello! I am trying to import a plane in to Mudbox 2012 that is a very large scale (250 square meters). It seems to import fine, but then Mudbox has a problem displaying the object. It's like its not even there. The object shows up in the Object list, but in the viewport I just get an empty background. Any ideas? I'm trying…
This script takes the current layer, reduces the levels of the blue channel, from 255 down to 128, and then sets the layer to overlay mode. This is necessary when combining a grey scale layer that has had the photoshop normal map filter applied, with a baked out normal map from max/kaldera/orb/melody.…
So here goes my first post. I finished today hi-poly and low poly mesh. My goal was making it as detailed as possible since it's quite simple model. Low poly is 2312 tris right now, second LOD is going to be around 250 tris. I think I'll to be UVing and baking next day. Any advices before baking in 3dsmax?
Hi everyone, Here is a link to the entire thread with progress, breakdowns and my rationale , including 2 other props I worked on for this project! https://www.artstation.com/contests/untamed-when-animals-ruled-the-world/challenges/157/submissions/65499
You can't make unlimited loops in designer - it's a deliberate choice by the developers. If you wanted a 256 iteration slope blur, the best way to do it would be to use the automation toolkit to build the graph - you can use loops there
Autodesk offers now 3DSMAX Indie which is fully functional, for 250 $ per year. This would be a reason to stay with Max, the only problem is that they didnt offer it in Germany right now.... -_-" .... It´s Autodesks answer to the Blender 2.8 hype.
are there any plans to release the 2.8 version as physical book ? or only ebook ? i'm fine with 2.7 but reluctant to switch to 2.8 since there's so much different and new, so i am kinda looking forward to the 2.8 version of this :)
I would say 20-25k tris would be fine but beyond that it's a bit much for where we're at right now. Your bake looks excellent but I'm more concerned about the two 2k maps. Thats huuge!
His SciFi hallway is breathtaking, made from one 256 X 512 texture. Also for the future of web based HTML5 these techniques are supper relevant. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89682 [vv]35470093[/vv]
Really like the look of Modo, shame about the 7k limit - guess they want to stop studios from getting higher poly models into game engines. If it was more like 15k - 25k max limit then I'd definitely get it.
