Welcome one and all to the 97th edition of the Bi-Monthly Environment Art Challenge for the months of July and August! This challenge is a way for real-time 3D artists to test their skills and create a piece of work based on concepts provided. It's open to those of all skill levels and we do our best to provide meaningful…
You can create a second variation of your layout within the project, use coastal erosion to flatten the valleys then blend between the two with a chooser node (use one of the heightmap outputs as blending mask). Works kinda like lerp node in UE4.
Add a displacementShader node between the texture and the displacement slot in the SG, there's a Height value for this. https://support.solidangle.com/display/AFMUG/Displacement You could also use a setRange or remapHSV node after the texture if you need to fine tune or reset the middle value.
By that I mean use a multiply node, ie: the darker parts would be occluded and then a power node would be used like a levels adjustment in photoshop so the lerp mask won't be blurry. This video demonstrates the concept in UDK http://eat3d.com/free/vertex_painting
- *starts reading the post* - *nods nods* - Blender engine not common? I suppose, fair enuff. - 'but hopefully I can help prove its worth...' - Yes, it prob... No! nonononono! Hang on min! I had a uni classmate proving blenders worth to me more or less every day for two years straight (bless him) And I don't mind Blender,…
I got the answer look for a color node in the channel box construcion history of your mesh and select it go to edit > delete node and your object will take some vibrant color all you have to do now is assing the material again
Depth Alpha basically takes a bias to increase the softness. The heigh the softness the higher softer the transition. A bias of 0 should give you a hard edge. Be aware that theres a Bias field in the properties of the Depth Alpha node as well as the Bias input for the node.
What are skin clusters? I dont believe I ever used anytool called a skin cluster... And can I actually go back before the history nodes by using the history nodes somehow? Ctrl Z only goes so far.
This is a great first step! Wayfinder has a neat "painterly" style. Note that it usually takes a few years of practice and creation to learn the skills needed for this kind of work. We have some resources on our wiki that explain some of the work necessary to create work in a similar style.…
Hello guys, this question might be stupid but it's been bothering me. I recently upgraded to maya 2018, seems like I can't insert texture by clicking the icon on right side of the color channel. it's doesn't respond. I have to connect the node in the node editor for everything. it is pretty annoying. is there anyone have…
