@NikhilR - hey twitter is not bad at all for posting artwork, long as you tailor your feed to art stuff mainly. does a good job with image compression too
Just a general question for the community. If you could, please describe what kind of 3D art you make while answering. I'll give an example from my own process: so far, I think I spend anywhere from 150-200 hours on making a single real time game character. That includes the high poly sculpt, the retopo, UV unwrap,…
Hi! I’m gathering a small team to develop the first act of a game in the style of Until Then or OPUS: Echo of Starsong. What differentiates the project: The game's emotional narrative is its heart. The first act is fully written and revised, with strong positive feedback from test readers — the main reason I started…
@okidoki I think the model is the issue and not substance. If you see the normal image png, it is not messed up (Otherwise both sides would look bad as the texture is repeating. At least that's what I think, not very versed with this ) This is a render of both the models (Eugene's and mine) in the same conditions, Normal…
250k of debt has to be a US thing - the US system is stupid and should not be used as a measure for anywhere else in the world In the UK it's 9k per year (27k total on a low interest loan payable when you earn over a certain threshold), In some places in Europe it's either free or a couple of k per year because their…
@cfey gotta agree with Tzur_H the modelling looks good but the lighting and materials could do with a lot of work. From what I see it's in Marmoset which isnt bad but may be worth trying UE4 if you get the time! The bolts on the storage container are a bit of an eyesore, value is way too dark and it bring attention away…
Just curious, but how long have you been looking? When I got laid off a couple years ago it took me a little over a year before I landed a new studio gig. During that time I did lots of freelance to pay bills, but mostly I redid my portfolio over and over. You have a great portfolio, but it certainly needs some trimming.…
SA_22, Cheers man for spotting those problems. I've corrected them and it's looking much better. As for Dave. No he's not a relative, but he was my tutor at Uni. I take it you are attending Teesside, how are you finding the course? garriola83, Yeah the face is pretty much still WIP but thanks for spotting those. I've made…
alrighty, the whole body is UVWmapped except the backpack and extra bags...I'll start working on a skin after I get off work tonight, and I'll try and post something before I go to bed I'll go ahead and post the texture maps, I'd like to know if I've made fairly good use of the space or not…
Just finished it last night with my bud on the easier mode, and it was actually still pretty challenging. Overall the ending just got better and better. The carrier to the airport was pretty awesome. I was really sad about the ending...not really climactic at all and it just sorta stops abruptly. Was hoping to fight that…
