Awesome info so far I'm going to be making a fair share of buildings in UE3 over the next couple of months so this is great info. One question, do you import the modular parts into UE3 and snap the building together in the editor or would you export it out of max as a buiding?
Hi guys listen i have been looking around but cant seem to find any info in How to select Mesh and to isolate that mesh in Z Brush if anyone knows any info could you please share it? and when working with a mesh like this is having each stone in a Sub Dir here recommended? if so i have no problem in redoing the hole thing…
yes, thanks for that. I saw that info on the site. I was an art director at a game company, and I was constantly searching for talent through internet forums and such. I understand as an illustrator that a printed book might get me a different kind of exposure. Anyways I did find some useful info elsewhere. thanks again.
Where is this tax info? i cant find it anywhere on the polycount contest submission info or anywhere in the user generated content wiki for Chivalry. Also for that matter, i couldn't actually find anywhere where it said you had to submit your items in one submission and not per item. Was this somewhere I didn't see?
I agree, the DS+Friends can be put in one thread called "gamer tags" or something. That way people can post all thier "handles" and other info for all the games/services. Or better yet ask that people put that info in their polycount discription? Also is there a way to give the sticked threads a different icon?
Hey, I must be doing this wrong, but the info thread says that YouTube videos can be embedded pasting a specific URL format; but I can't get this to work. https://polycount.com/discussion/comment/2692602/#Comment_2692602 Format appears to match the kind on the info thread. Where am I mucking up?
Honestly, if the vehicles were just modeling practice, then they aren't good portfolio pieces even if the modeling is clean. As for the site, it's simple, it has your contact info or a way to contact you in pretty good spots, the only other spot I'd add your contact info to is the footer if you can edit it.
Thanks for the info. What exactly do you mean by “synced normals?” I can’t find much info on this subject. Also, the video is excellent at explaining how modeling/smoothing/UVing techniques can control shading behavior, but it’s still unclear to me in this video how Handplane specifically improves the shading.
