grab an anatomy book ;) the new pose is definitely better for rigging and skinning and also for modelling but you shouldunderstand how the bones are built and the muscles are constructed around them, even though its stylized, that knowledge will give you a way more believable result.
Gnomon - Introduction to Zbrush Kurv Studios - Introduction to Zbrush Are very helpful. The Gnomon one jumps around different parts of the program, the Kurv one is a project (alien head) from start to finish). The Gnomon Human Anatomy one is also very good.
maybe make the legs a bit chunkier then. I have no idea how this concept mech doesn't fall over, but it's legs are pretty beefy, so I believe it could support its own weight and balance itself, similar to human anatomy in a way...
You need to pay a lot more attention to the proportions and anatomy - you're a long way off pretty much across the board. You've got a decent set of photograpic elevations there - the ones with the green background. You'd be far better using those as a base.
Something...or, everything is very wrong with her base mesh. The armor covers it, but the face needs more feminiminizing. Make it woman, not ape. The armor fits the concept, but the body doesn't. A little advice on anatomy. Study the actual shape of a ribcage for a more believable torso.
The muscle anatomy isn't bad, but his arms are waaaay too short. I would work on the positioning of the ribcage/torso and the overall shape and size of the cranium. This is defiantly an ambitious project. I would focus on getting solid proportions before blazing into the clothing.
The anatomy on him is pretty darn stellar, and the skin has the perfect tone IMO. The leather could use some work to make it look used instead of so pristine. Great work. I agree with Fomori though, the shadows are too dark in that render.
I tried something like this when doing anatomy sculpts and couldn't find a way to make the active tool transparent except for using the imageplane plugin which has a slider for the mesh opacity, tell me if you find out otherwise ;0
another batch- worked on anatomy a bit and finished the first Gi. Gonna work on armbands nxt followed by his alternate Gi. New wire w/out Gi: Wire w/ Gi: some simple screen grabs w/ shader: CU:
I'm liking your 2d and high poly work. And the prop texturing is pretty good, quite realistic. The low poly work seems a tad limited, and the texturing could used some work. You have a good grasp on anatomy, much props for that.
