I BOUGHT TODAY! It really IS amazing, no complains... Should be the game of the year! What really amazes me is the TONS of content on this game. Tons of props, animations, modular buildings. Cameras are unique, sound too. Got addicted to it. Very well paid.
Hi, trying to practice in creating modular assets, any feedback would be very helpful Refrence from https://www.artstation.com/artwork/voOO6 . Really cool works Maya-->Zbrush-->SP-->UE4 16,5k tris Final render: All assets in one 4k texture, 5.12px/unit: assets:
I built a modular building, and between some of the pieces I'm getting weird shadows. I'm seeing it in many different areas where one building piece connects with another. Thought I'd ask if anyone knew what this was before I blindly start investigating through trial and error.
Agreed with what those guys said really. Brilliant high poly work but the low poly/textures could really do with some optimization. You could probably (at a push) fit all that on a couple of 1024 maps. Look into texture and model modularity.
@Dklang i can't say if modular was easier or harder than a different workflow, it surely can save some time and texturing work. Regarding the textures i could have probably optimized them a lot more, there is a total of 7 materials in the scene.
Hey thanks for the comment, Yeah I thought about that to, But I am currently working on a scene and I am trying to do it modular, and some one recommend using a blend shader, http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95121&highlight=bridge.
It bugs me that the only damage area is in one block. You wouldnt be able to use it as modular very well because that one damage block will stick out. I would have weathering and damage around the top part of the curb, and have it subtle.
+1 For texture flats along with some wireframe overlay screenshots to see how you reused the textures on various modular pieces. Looking awesome, the path that ends in a circular path in the middle reminds me of a scene from xmen where cerebo is used.
First thing I did was break down the scene a bit into what I could make modular - I tried to separate elements by material but this evolved a bit over time and I was actually able to cull a couple of parts (yay for the tri count)
Going to have to agree with what others have said about this one. Looks like a good one for modularity. Statue looks fun too. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 2400x1216.
