Making damage states is a pain in the ass. The method I've used for sims and stuff is always canned: You just hide the swapped mesh with lots of smoke, debris and flames. Thanks for the breakdown, that's fricking epic. Same about the matcap, because some have a cavity intensity too important, other don't, or light ain't the same direction. I usually rotate between 3 matcap that are totally different, and only one resembling human skin. I would love to know your process for making the alpha… -

I remember back in UE1, if you had floating geo, like the windows, you'd get horrible flickering on some LOD views, so a contiguous, 'watertight' mesh was the only way to go, if a little more poly heavy, I guess maybe this is for an engine that has similar issues? Gun looks cool, but your picatinny rails are WAY too flat. I hate to be anal about guns, but your gun really will look better with proper, beefy, rails.
