I don't think I'm completely followin the EA rulz for forums, I technically have to change my name to EA|Justin or something like that and I can't say stuff like "Blizzard employees are doo-doo heads" or "conan wears frilly pink undies under his loin cloth".
idiot, its not wrong to ask questions about this kind of stuff, and it has nothing to do with insecurities. I want to learn and I've always come here as a place to learn. You don't know how I study and you don't see me in school so don't make assumptions. i always saw this forum as a great tool, and to reply the way you do…
Update:Finally done! I'm turning in the project today for the contest but any crits and comments are still welcome. Hope you guys enjoy! Hey guys! I'm doing this piece for a blizzard art contest where Garrosh is tearing off Kerrigans wings and stomping on diablos head. This is where I'm at so far let me know what you think…
Handpainting, love it. I suck at it and I want to get way way better at it so I humbly throw myself and my pieces to the polycount wolves. Biggest WIP-areas are the skeletal pieces but yeah, overall I'd guess it's contrast and saturation i need to work at amirite? :/ http://dl.dropbox.com/u/469564/handpaintedsword_05.jpg…
Early tiling textures for a Blizzard like title - wip Pretty much my first time getting to grips with zbrush at this point. Sand stones for path ways. Most happy with this one as it tiles very well, I want to start building on my zbrush skills and also texturing to better create these sorts of tiles to a better standard.…
http://kotaku.com/5299873/update-thq-opens-giant-austin-office This is interesting, seeing THQ is laying off 600 employees. They haven't actually confirmed what the office is, it might just be a support center like Blizzard has or it could be a full blown house. Some think they might just be relocating Vigil. Interesting…
Maybe it's because I've been doing this for 19 years, so I have more options than most. There's a good chance places like Naughty Dog, Blizzard, and Epic get tons of qualified applicants, and my refusal to take an art test might preclude the possibility of me ever working for any of them.
Morris, I'm going to have to assert if the objective is to still create a Warcraft character fit for WoW, just take an existing Warcraft concept and attempt to recreate it in 3D. Your drawing style is very strong, but the way you handle renders by laying in heavy black shadow shapes doesn't fit the bill of Blizzard art :/
As a matter of fact, I just saw an email from LinkedIn; Blizzard Job group. Same question popped up. O o' Anyway, the recruiter/hiring manager there recommend separate Resume if you want to have a graphical resume of any kind that's not pure black wall of text on white background. Sounds reasonable.
Sweet examples Muzz. Yeah, also just because an artist paints in a sketchy painterly style doesn't automatically mean he or she can't do tight renderings as well. Like the artist who did this two pieces. He works for Blizzard by the way. Yeah, he's bad. Bad Ass that is. http://mv.cgcommunity.com/
