3dsmax mental ray image sampling on normal maps
Im not a mental ray user (vray and brazil). The scanline renderer is too slow for me to use (2.5 star super sampling with about a half million polygons at 4096 resolution). Your sculpt looks pretty tops, I would consider bringing down the brightness/saturation on the univorm though, they’re blue but they’re definitely not 0, 0, 255 blue like yours seem to be. I would also say looking at direct color reference that your gold looks a bit more reflective than it should, or maybe you’re not using… -

Combine mesh is working fine with fbx but I need to have the components editable. I didn't care so much about performances since I will not generate a game but some images, my problem currently is to import the object in a way is visible and his components (there are 237 parts) are individually editable. My guess is that this occurs when there is shading variations in the matID map. So if you have pure red, green and blue, and add some 253 0 0 pixels here and there, dDo will consider it to be a separate material (but will fail to map it into the model) This is entirely my fault ofc, but it would be nice if you guys could… -

yep sure was.. ask poop he seen it..i wasnt doing anything to the model besides rotating it around.. but did no prob.. and with the centrinos its not like comparing a pentium 1.8 or an athlon.. i think the going conversion is something like add 30% to that number.. so a centrino running at 1.8 ghz is like 2.5 gzh…
