Thank you for your return Teodar23, for the fences I will rework them after, sculpt and retopo! So it's normal for the moment that they are (weird). I continued a little after I came back from work on the landscape material and the composition.
Hey all, here's a couple landscape textures and a foliage update this time. Spent the weekend pressing plants/blades from my backyard then did some tweaking in photoshop. Was a blast and REALLY happy with the turnout. Crits always welcome!
Exactly. "the massive grind there was too much gear dependancy" Somone say WoW? Yeah, in terms of the world content and landscapes you have to give a point to WoW since they have done a great job on keeping players busy.
I just got the Huion H610 pro, love the tablet and the texture on it, the surface area I get with it is just fantastic compared to my old bamboo. I did my first landscape study to test out the tablet.
You could export a heightmap and splatmaps from World Machine, and use those on subdivided planes, with tiling diffuse textures. We have several methods here: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/MultiTexture http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Landscape
The stickies don't really bother me as I'm usually on Polycount on my second monitor which is in portrait mode. Also in landscape mode, they dont bother me but that's probably due to me being on various forums for too long.
Another progress shot for where Im at for tonight. Started fixing and texturing the terrain/landscape, as well as finalizing pier material with normal maps and spec maps, also added in Epics Fire, for looks, plan to create my own.
This industry just doesn't get the respect it deserves. But honestly who cares, in 20 years, we're going to be dominating the media landscape anyways, and we're going to have all the pointless reward shows we never needed too.
Out of curiosity, were the big, open landscapes inspired by Serious Sam at all? I could definitely feel that sorta vibe if you added a few more enemies of differing types. Especially with the floating health kits and backpacks!
