The first mech concept is from smiedl a german artist who post his art on 3DRing. Here is where you find him : http://www.3d-ring.de/3d/3d-galerie.php?img=6164 Most of his work is 2D
those are just sprites displayed in an orthographic view. old school stuff. the tiles are handpainted and then just placed on a grid. you need to be able to paint those sprites, like the plants, the house, etc. i guess there are lots of tutorials about this in the www.
People who don't know art typically can't tell good work from mediocre or poor work. Case in point: http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/showthread.php?169172-Anime-Head-Model whoops, hit edit instead of quote.
For me, the 'wiz-bang-wow' of every Nintendo product I've purchased since the 'cube has quickly worn off and left me wondering why I bought it. There has only been one game that compelled me to play it, and that was RE4.

yeah,, its a photo wo the WWE title,, but why did you just cut half of it off, and not even cover that up? its jsut.. cut the model and texture for the most part is really nice,, just the photo belt throwing it off

Hehe cute. I think the layout of the planks of wood feels wrong. The look a bit like a kitchen like that. Wouldn't they just all be parallel? I dunno, nitpicking. And you're gonna fix the UV seams right? http://www.1000skies.com/
