yeah the writing needs work, atm it's just extruded mesh with a small inset. It'll need smoothing work done on it before it's baked, plus i can touch that up in the texture later on if it needs it.
sweet script! An update feature you might think about is loop extrude face to make pipe connectors, it could be random on count, or at ends. Just an idea... awesome job on this, very well polished.
Haha, dont mess with this Mario! Of course the hand will have fingers, probably extruded the fingers and left them like that for now. P.S.: Bonne St-Jean b1ll Edit: I second that request for a video.
In maya 2012, I'm getting a problem. When I select a face, it looks like that, with the vertices highlighted. When I try to extrude from the face, It's completely messed up, I can't quite explain it. How do I get rid of this pesky setting that I somehow activated?
Hi People, im working on a high poly model and i must add a hole where is already some geometry. Cutting this Shape in and Extrude in dont look good. What would be the best way to make a hole in there? Thanks, Gazu
Why is the tip of the sword... Extruded (I think that's the proper word) like that? It seems like it would drastically reduce the effectiveness of slashing motions... Stabbing too. If you somehow managed to get that thing into a person, you'd have a heck of a time getting it back out.
Thank you all for your help - it all works fine now :) 1 thing though after I installed Switcher - to mimic Maya - the SHIFT + Drag extrude function doesn't work...Anyone know how to remap that in the customize UI? what is it called?
I would have started with a cylinder, deleted the tops and just edge extruded the whole thing, scaling up what ever loops I wanted larger... rotating loops along the curve. Cant see that taking me more than a minute or 2..
You could start by simply blocking in the major shapes first then connecting the pieces. What I did when I was at that stage, was just go for it! Start extruding lines and creating polies and you'll have plenty of time to go back and fix nasty parts.
Yes I have experienced it with Inset,Extrude and Bevel commands and every now and then I'll get it with the Chamfer modifier. It has never actually caused a duplicate face or any issues other than it being annoying
