If its only a statue, no, you don't need a rig. If there is animation involved, then yes, you need to rig your character. If it's not posed, but there is no animation involved, then you just need some bones to pose it.
Howdy. I'm looking to hire somebody to make one or more 3d models for an indie game that I'm developing for Unity and to rig it so that I can animate it myself for whatever purposes necessary. I'd like to stylize the character with a cel-shaded look to make it look more cartoon or anime-esc, which is the style I'm going…
MadGoat Studio is looking for a senior 3D Character animator and rigger. We have around 2-3 animals and 1 character we need rigging and animation for. The game is AAA quality and we are looking for an animator that can provide the necessary quality. Send your portfolio when you apply for this job. We will provide…
Hey all, I'm having an issue with a Zsphere rig giving me very "mushy" elbows and knees. I've added additional zspheres above and below each joint to try and force a bit of extra sharpness, but it's having little effect. I've got a feeling it might be to do with the model not being at the unified scale Zbrush likes, but I…
Hi everyone, I'm trying to test out the multi Stereo Rig But I'm getting stuck right out the gate. The viewport just gives me a black screen and I can't view any of the objects. I have linked the different layers of the scene with the different cameras but even then the screen stays black. Anyone got any experience with…
Looking to find a world-class Maya rigger who can craft beautiful yet functional rigs and breathe life into our dinosaurs. Final exports would be to use in Unity. * IK leg setup * Foot attributes (heel roll, heel lift, etc) with individual toe controls * IK spine * FK/IK switching arms and finger controls * FK Tail…
Sorry if it is too noobish. But here is the problem, as you see in the picture below I wanna animate the left shape (zig zag planes) to the right one. It's like windows shutters ( or w/e it's called ) that close from bottom to top. I know very little about IK rigging and the real problem here is they have to close one by…
Hi, I'm looking into creating a high-end facial rig to research the differences between emotions perceived in humans vs animations, requiring me to drive a realistic character mesh with intricate controls, similar to those in SoftImage's Face Robot. Is anyone able to recommend some high quality reference for creating such…
Hi Polycount, I'm having issues with trying to rig a robotic arm. I want to stop any sort of rotations on the X and Z axis but I seem to be having no luck. I've setup a simple HI solver and tried snapping the bones to dummies so that they match the picot point of the arm chunks. I've also tried playing around with locking…
Hey guys. I'm creating a pokemon-style creaure and wanted to create a nice, flat and vivid eye (tried a spherical small eye - it got kinda strange and ugly). But what about the rigging? I decided tor record the issues otherwise I would need to post a bunch of prints, which is really boring. I've been beating my head with…
