Dan mate, long time no see. Are you working on games? I didn't make a whole lot for this little project. A couple of character textures (neither of which wound up in the screenshots) and a bunch of level objects in the 'Monster Bowl' level, the one with the gravestones and whatnot. We do primarily make PSP and DS games…
Alex_J, I believe this phrase can summarize this post very well: "It's probably pointless to make any general suggestion. If you have a specific project and goal in mind, it may be possible to consider how certain tools could help." And if I share the same opinion as you, I think that creating modular pieces, which are…
Define your target plattform. We are still stuck in the XBox360/PS3 world. Modern video cards are 10x more powerful than Xbox360/PS3, still all modern games target first the XBox/PS market, then the PC market. Addtionally we had a shift in rendering technology in the last decade. From forward rendering to deferred…
I sent Sony an email asking about the PS3 specs. They replied: Hi Sam, Thank you for writing us. The technical specifications for the PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system have been released at a press conference in Los Angeles, California, in May of 2006. You can view the specifications of the PLAYSTATION(R)3…
I thought it was strand based too (the curly one in one of the screenshots above as well as the dreadlocks animating like they do on the guy headbanging on a green truck in the trailer). Would seem like a nightmare to achieve either of these in haircards/with bones. Youtube compression doesn't exactly help in figuring it…
I am making lots of model sheets from my renders is there a faster way to get rendered psds together in the one psd than Automate - Photomerge ? It seems to flatten my psds when I do that. I mean it keeps them as separate layers in a new psd but flattens those images so there is no transparency. Maybe there is a better way…
I'm curious. I'm under the impression that assets involving sculpting, baking, high end materials etc just don't work with hand painted textures? Whenever I see hand painted textures it's usually on rather flat surfaces. Are there any examples where these two worlds can combine beautifully? Rime for PS4. Like many hand…
Hi Guys Can you give me the low down of using "Uixel - DDO & NDO" verses using "The Foundry - Mari" I know its used mainly in the VFX industry but I know some games companies are looking into using Mari for some PS4 titles and I wanted to know how are you getting on with it? DDO…
Hey all, so we`ve been sitting on some pretty exciting news for awhile now and finally we can get it out there :) Warframe will be a launch F2P title for the PS4. I was apart of a small team working on this launch trailer and it`s finally out - http://ca.ign.com/videos/2013/06/05/warframe-is-coming-to-playstation-4…
Happy holidays guys! 2016 has been a blast for me. Created my company with some friends and now we are releasing a game for PS4. It grew a lot and even if I didn't spent much doing art as I did years before I learned lots of things about the industry and met awesome people! The 3D daily section looks amazing. I want to…
