Hi Polycount! I finished my newest scene! I've been working really hard on it; it's a small but focused scene with quite a few props. I worked entirely alone on this over the course of about 2 months using weekends and other bits of free time to make it all from scratch. The only external resource I used was Textures.com…
UV's don't need to be in the 0-1 space. Place them wherever you want and scale them up/down to get the tiling texture to repeat as much as desired. For unique details you could use decals, or create a second UV set that'll be rendered over the tiling one (just give the important parts UV space in the 0-1 range and mask the…
Hello, I am not a TD, but I am the solo animator at my current job and I need to deal with the creating of the rigs for Unity. The coder that deals with character skills and integretion is asking for a rig that has two bones that are having the same hierarchy level -> two roots in the same rig. I am using Advanced Skeleton…
I recall there were some rumors they were going to do some scripted option or something. I have some older version and it's best hand painting soft I ever used . Still use my ancient Painter license just because there is an obscure blender 2.5 addon that reads 32 bit depth buffer from uncompressed Painter riff files. But…
I didn't recall seeing a modifier named Edit Mesh in Blender and couldn't find it in the list. A web search turned up an addon creating something named like that. It's definitively not a native feature, so maybe it's broken in newer versions or is just severely limited due being just an extension.
Maybe it's just me, but I actually think the new version looks nicer. Sure they cut down on the lighting, but everything else looks and feels more like a Dark Souls game than ever before. It's not like the game looks like a PS2 title either. I don't think it's that big of a deal in terms of false advertising either.…
Though I'm sure I've been exposed to a lot more of it than i recall, the one thing that ALWAYS comes to mind was EA's use of the Honda Element and "dnL" (7up upside down) in SSX 3... at one point you even railed THROUGH an element. Honestly, unless it totally takes you out of context / gameplay just to blast you with an…
Hey, thanks for all the comments! - Ive made some good progress and taken all the suggestions on board. Been working on the cliffs, i will be making some smaller rocks to help break up the tiling and will also populate the places where the terrain meets the landscape. The textures on the terrain and the cliffs are work in…
It's coming, just they got the timeframe wrong. Most likely it will be a century for full one button AAA style graphics. But advancements have been made for smaller assets. Consider SpeedTree for instance. I'm sure they will perfect tools that deal with objects that are static and static environments as well. Anything that…
hey travis, that looks really promising! a familiar interface like yours is certainly welcome. do you have a 'lazymouse' feature (a la zbrush. mudbox has it as well but i can't recall how it's called there) to stabilize long brushstrokes? also what i find always very welcome for 3D texturing is the ability to draw or…
