Hey guys. I've been a bit busy as of late, not slouching. Anyways I hear what you guys are saying. I don't have much proper traditional anatomic training. And with my model I really didn't care much for any anatomy. (Sacrilege!?) I know I'm supposed to know all the rules in order to know when and how to break them. I…
Ive just run a series of pretty exhaustive tests with simplygon 10 vs manual lods on a load of characters (we already know it can't cope with hard surface meshes so didn't bother there) TLDR : You'll get a better looking result doing it by hand for the same geometry cost - especially on the lowest lods Simplygon still…
Hey, I'm a fresh graduate and I sent my work to a games company the other day who were after a "character artist", I won't say the name of the company, but the job listing is still up on the artstation incase anyone fancied searching it yourself and giving me their thoughts on it. The company got back to me saying they…
Hey guys. I made a map for Unreal Tournament called DM-Chamber. Download link It features trap room in the center of the map and zero grav pools. The goal of this project was to make fun and cool looking map with 100% custom art within 100 mb file size. For that I used custom vertex normal technique, deferred mesh decals…
Hey Utility, it appears this is an issue with this particular mesh in 1.8, I can confirm that the Mesh will not load for me in 1.8 it does, however load in 2.0 Since you worked around it by exporting from Maya I would like to set this issue as resolved. It will not be much longer for 2.0 where this issue is fixed. Let me…
Exit edit mode and clear the document. Set the RGB and Z Intensities to 100, then redraw the tool onto the document and go back into edit mode. Any value less than 100 (even as high as 99) will cause that behavior. There's a bug with projection master (caused by saving projects in 2.5d mode, which includes quick saves)…
Like the dudes face man, character looks like something out of the 100 bullets brother lono comic book series as well, might be worth having a look through that one day, lots of cool visuals in there, looking forward to watching this develop :)…
Yes, you are doing this the right way. Mirroring connected geometry is fine. A single smoothing group should work, however Max's in-viewport preview of normal maps isn't 100% accurate, you'd probably get better results if you viewed the model and normalmaps in a game engine (or maybe try Jogshy's XNormal program). I don't…
[ QUOTE ] I think the original NES was just $100, and it's being cheaper than the Sega Master System is one of the reasons it caught on despite having 'inferior' hardware. Then again, it was twenty years ago, and I admit I don't remember so good. I do remember that he first game I bought for it was Kung Fu, and that set me…
